After breakfast at Hotel proceed with the sight-seeing tour of Mumbai 

Half day visit to Gateway of India, Mumbai's principle landmark.  This arch of yellow basalt was erected on the waterfront in 1924 to commemorate King George V's visit to this colony in 1911.  Drive past the Afghan Church.  Secretariat of Maharashtra Government and along the Marine Drive which is fondly known as the 'Queen's Necklace'.  Visit Jain temple and Hanging Gardens which offer a splendid view of the city, Chowpatty, Kamala Nehru Park and also Mani Bhavan where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during his visits to Mumbai.  Drive past Haji Ali Mosque, a shrine in honour of a Muslim Saint on an island 500 m. out at sea and  is linked by a causeway to the mainland.  Stop at the 'Dhobi Ghat' where Mumbai's 'dirties' are scrubbed, bashed, dyed and hung out to dry.  Watch the local train passing close by on which the city commuters 'hang out like laundry' -  a nice photography stop.  Continue to the colorful Crawford market and to the Flora fountain in the large bustling square, in the heart of the city.

Later transfer to Mumbai Airport to connect flight for Cochin

Full day tour of the satellite towns of Kochi (Cochin) and Emakulam comprises of visits to the Dutch Palace, the Jewish Synagogue - (which remains closed on Fridays) St. Francis Church and the Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline, at the Harbour's mouth, one can also view the unique and still-in-use "Chinese Fishing Nets" which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century. The tour ends in the Fort Kochi area where you can walk through the historical Dutch and Portuguese buildings. Some parts of this nearly 500-year-old Fort are still amazingly well preserved

After breakfast at Hotel depart by surface for Allepey  Upon arrival board Houseboat, located on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake The boat cruises and you have a close look into an engaging rustic life. Large flotillas of ducks waddling down to the water from thatched houses on the banks

As we travel through the backwaters we pass through rural settlements sited on narrow strips of land between waterways. The backwaters are a hive of activity with village life all along the banks, boat men taking goods and materials from one village to the next, children swimming, women washing clothes, and fishermen in traditional wooden boats. Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat

After breakfast at Houseboat depart by surface for Periyar

On arrival proceed with the sight-seeing tour of Periyar drive along the tranquil countryside to Periyar – one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in India. The sanctuary is centered on a large artificial lake, formed by the dam across the Periyar River. Periyar Tiger Reserve—in the southwestern state of Kerala, this is the best elephant sanctuary in India, despite its name, although it does have tigers, as well as monkeys, wild boar and sambals. Walking tours are offered, but the best way to see the reserve is to take a boat ride on the manmade lake, which is surrounded by the wildlife areas. The park should be visited October-May.

Morning enjoy boat cruise around the lake, you can see herds of wild animals on the banks taking their bath or quenching their thirst. A stroll through the spice plantations, filled with the fragrance of cardamom, clove, cinnamon etc., will be truly exhilarating.

Full day tour of visiting Great Meenaskhi Temple Dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towersing Gopurams, rising high above the surrounding township. Later visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious biulding in the Indo-Saracenic style, famous for the stucco wrok on uts domes and arches. Also visit the Algar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock Temple.

Upon arrival in Trichy proceed to visit the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Ganapathi, 434 steps cut out into the rock side and interspersed with shrines, lead to the temple, yet another flight leads to the temple of Lord Shiva. The ascent is climaxed by magnificent view of the sacred Kaveri River. Visit Srirangam a massive temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which contains within its walls a bazaar, as well

After breakfast at Hotel proceed with the sight-seeing tour of Tanjore visiting of Thanjavur (Tanjore), the beautiful Chola temple of Brihadishwara. The temple is capped by a monolithic cupola made of a single granite block weighing 80 tons which was taken to the top with the help of a 6 Km long ramp, an old technique used by the Egyptians for building pyramids. Its bronze and handicrafts make Thanjavur one of the highlights of a visit to South India

Full day to Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram). Located around 60 Km  from Chennai, Mamallapuram occupies a stunning position ona rocky outcrop between the beach and a lagoon. Built by the pallava rulers in the seventh century the complex comprises of 14 cave-temples, nine monolithic "Rathas", three stone temples and two relief sculptured  rock panels. These two rock-panels give a graphic description of Arjuna's penance when he prayed for the powers  of Shiva and form the largest Bass Relief in the world. Particularly of interest is the shore temple built on the water's edge with an east-facing altar designed to catch the rising Sub, this has now been declared a World Heritage Site.

On arrival in Chennai proceed with the sight-seeing tour of Chennai visiting the Government Museum and Art Gallery, to see the art and bronze gallery, (closed on Fridays and public holidays) and also a visit to the famous 16th century Kapaleeshwarar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, sacred to Tamil Shivaties. Non-Hindus are only allowed upto the outer courtyard. Drive past Fort St. George, Marina Beach and San Thome Cathedral. Later visit the Snake Park at Guindy.
